Celtic Linen
One of the oldest companies in the Republic of Ireland has invested in leading edge electric vehicle technology.
Celtic Linen Ltd has taken delivery of a new Smith Newton 10 tonne (22,000lb) fully electric truck.
The company’s first electric vehicle is part of a fleet of 50 trucks, engaged in the delivery and collection of linen. It is based at Celtic Linen’s Dublin distribution depot which supplies linen rental products to the industrial, hospitality and healthcare markets.
The Newton is fitted with a box body, which has been specifically designed to accommodate a flexible internal divide. This allows for the simultaneous transport of both clean and dirty linen, avoiding cross-contamination and reducing transport times and costs.
The vehicle also has an electric tail lift and sports a vibrant and eye-catching livery, specially designed for the Newton.
